| Bolshka: I'm gearing up for Karazhan raiding and the requirements are laid out pretty plainly (and painfully).
I thought I'd share 'em so you can gauge your own progress/status at 70. Bear in mind this is talking about a bare minimum of unbuffed and untrinked stats. Topping the requirements for armor/health/power is great. Also note that for the moment, topping 490 Defense is a waste of your points and time.
While you don't gotta have these for rolling normal five-mans, it sure helps.
The idea here is that if you CAN meet these requirements, you can pretty much tackle any of the five-mans on heroic setting. If you don't meet the requirements, you will at least know what to shoot for.
Most of this can be attained by running with a mix of blues and greens, all of which can be attained from questing and/or normal-mode instances.

| Hawk: Do not take this the wrong way. but the info is a bite odd to me.? You put the numbers on the screen but they do not make sense me. Just a quick run down
HEALING Shaman HP: 6,300 MP: 9,000 +Healing: 900 Combat Mp5: 100
Ok so is this what you mean? We need the stat to be at this level to be a healer.? And then
DAMAGE: CASTERS Shamans - Elemental HP: 6,300 MP: 8,000 +Damage: 600 + Spell Crit: 20% + Spell Hit: 6%
Does this mean that you have to be this to be a damage one as well? So the bottom line is to walk in a not look stupid(noob) in this place or places we or you have to get EQ to make the stats hit these or higher numbers RIGHT?

| Bolskha:
You fit into one or the other role, not both. If you can meet both, all the better for the team. Ultimately it all boils down to class, spec, and gear.
Most classes are "hybrid" in one fashion or another. Shamans, like Warriors, must tune their spec to fit a role. If you are an Elemental Shaman (Sevage), then you are considered Range DPS. If you are Restoration (Twelvespears), then you are a Healer. If you are an Enhancement Shaman (Lonewulfe), you are Melee DPS.
Likewise, if you are an Arms or Fury spec Warrior - you fit into Melee DPS. If you are Protection-oriented, you are a tank.
It's not to say that you can't spot for those positions - in many cases you are EXPECTED to be able to fill another role to fit a particular situation (IE: main healer is one-shotted, time to heal). Sometimes a particular strategy against a boss calls for more DPS than healing or two tanks instead of one. For that reason, you're expected to carry alternate gear to fill those roles (switch before the fight).
Bolshka is a "true" hybrid with his spec - he can just as easily DPS as he can tank, so he always carries both kinds of gear. In his case, he meets requirements of both roles - but that's a factor of his spec and gear combined.
The key is to know your class and your spec inside and out, know the roles you can fill to benefit the party. An Enhancement or Elemental Shaman can certainly cast a heal spell, but an Elemental/Restoration Shaman CANNOT go in and fill a Melee DPS role - it'd be a joke.
It's not an issue of pride, here, folks, it's strategy. You don't send infantry charging in at cavalry with dirks in hand. Certain bosses have certain strategies, certain classes/specs fit better into a role than others.

| Bolshka:
The requirements for Karazhan are pretty much equivalent to what is required of heroic runs. If you can meet these, you should be fine.
Decide on your role, settle into a nice spec, and start gearing accordingly. These requirements can easily be met with blues and sprinklings of green.
